We the management and staff of St. Pius X High School Hanglur, Kundapura had a beautiful opportunity to host the Taluk Level Sports Meet on the 25th and 26th September 2018 at Gandhi Maidan. We feel proud to say that it was a great success because of the faithful love of God. Around a thousand students participated each day in this event.
The event began at 9.30am on 25th September by well-organized march fast by the students from Kundapura Taluk, and then hoisting the Olympic flag by Mrs. Manju Billava the member of Jilla Panchayath, Udupi, lighting the sports light by Swapna Mogavera, the member of Taluk Panchayat, Kundapura, Inauguration of Sports Meet by sending the gas balloons to the air by Sr. Charlotte Sequeira, our beloved Provincial Superior as well as the president of St. Ann education society, Western India, and the blessings by Rev. Fr. John Alfred Barboza the parish Priest, St. Pius X Church Hanglur. Mrs. Jalaja Kundar, the president of Grama Panchayat, Hanglur, was the president of the event. Some of the other dignitaries were Mr. Dinesh Kumar DYSP, Sir. Ashok Kamath BEO Kundpura, Mr. Steevan D’costa the wise president of Hanglur Grama Panchayat, Dr. Robert Rebello the surgeon, officials from the Department of Physical Education and some of our benefactors.
The events of two days were systematically organized by the management, Staff and students and the cooperation, support and encouragement of local people especially the Catholics and benefactors are to be well appreciated.
The two days programme ended on 26th September at 4.30 pm. The president of the programme was Dr. Sr. Charlotte Sequeira and the Chief Guest Mr. T. Bubalan, the Assistant Commissioner along with other guests of honor.
Though we felt the responsibility was the challenging one, we felt overjoyed when it ended. First of all thanks to the almighty and providential God for His blessings and Protection. It was indeed a God-given chance to experience the love, concern, belongingness, and generosity of our benefactors, friends, and well-wishers.
We are indeed glad to see the fruit and the success of the Taluk Level Sports Meet.
